Hiking Trails

Richfield Heritage Preserve offers five main hiking trails to explore. View Map.

Blue Loop Trail, 0.9 miles

​

The blue loop trail follows the main road, passing by Amity and North House before looping around the upper lake. Along the way, you'll encounter three bridges - two metal and one wooden. The trail offers varied terrain, including a gravel road, a wooded trail, steps, and a grassy meadow.

Yellow Loop Trail, 3.17 miles

​

Embark on a journey along the longest trail in the park, the yellow loop trail. This trail encompasses the entire park and offers diverse terrain, including gravel roads, wooded trails, and grassy areas, providing a captivating outdoor experience. Along the yellow loop trail, you'll encounter three bridges. Note that the bridge behind the mill is currently closed, awaiting repair.
 


White Loop Trail, 0.79 miles

Circling the lower lake, the white loop trail offers a combination of gravel roads and dirt trails to explore. Along the trail, you'll find wooden benches strategically placed around the lake that provide great spots to take in the scenic views. The trail's charm is further enhanced by three bridges - two concrete and one wooden. Note that the bridge behind the mill is currently closed, awaiting repair.


Green Loop Trail, 2.35 miles

The green loop trail offers a diverse hiking experience. It features gravel roads, grassy paths, dirt trails, rock crossings, steps, two boardwalks, a metal bridge, and resting spots with benches. Portions of the green loop trail are also part of the Buckeye Trail.

Red Loop Trail, 2.68 miles

 

The red loop trail is the second-longest trail in the park and offers a diverse hiking experience. It includes gravel roads, dirt trails, grassy paths, a shaded trail through a pine forest, a wooden bridge, and a concrete bridge.
