Watercraft Rules and Regulations

- Motorized watercraft is prohibited.
- Watercraft season opens Memorial Day and closes Labor Day.
- Watercraft are only allowed during normal park hours unless otherwise defined by a Special Use Permit.
- Watercraft must be launched and retrieved from authorized boat-launching areas.
- Watercraft must be placed by hand in the water. Vehicles must stay on defined roads and parking areas even when loading and unloading watercraft.
- Air propelled watercraft and hovercraft are prohibited.
- No watercraft shall enter a posted closed zone.
- All watercraft must be licensed by the State of Ohio. No person shall float or attempt to float or operate any unlicensed watercraft or vessel in park waters.
- No person shall operate any watercraft on park waters without having the proper personal flotation devices on board for each occupant of said watercraft.
- Boaters under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Swimming from watercraft is prohibited.
- Mooring and docking is prohibited.
- No person shall operate or cause to be operated any vessel upon the waters of this park district carelessly or in disregard for the rights and/or safety of any person, vessel, or property.
- Rules and Regulations are enforceable by state watercraft, park, or wildlife officers; sheriff's deputies; or other law enforcement units having jurisdiction in the area, and by Richfield Joint Recreation District Officials and their sanctioned representatives.
- No person shall fail to comply with any rule or regulation established by the park district regarding watercraft. Failure to follow park rules and State of Ohio boating laws will result in the loss of lake privileges and possible criminal prosecution.
