Volunteer
Are you looking for an opportunity to get involved in your community? Do you love the outdoors? Do you want to have fun? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, consider Richfield Heritage Preserve. We offer a number of volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups willing to contribute their time, energy, skills and talents.

Saturday Volunteer Events
Are you interested in making a difference? Weather permitting, volunteers meet most Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. – noon to tackle projects that make the park a better place for all to enjoy. Weekday volunteer opportunities are also available. Visit our calendar of events to see when the next volunteer event is taking place. Please note, Covid protocol may require you to register in advance.
Naturalist
Richfield Heritage Preserve is looking for a certified or seasoned, veteran naturalist interested in helping develop outdoor experiences for our park guests. Naturalists would lead hikes, outdoor programs and activities. Apply Here.
Internships
We offer internships for naturalists and for our social media presence.
Blue Bird Monitors
Assist Richfield Heritage Preserve in monitoring bluebird boxes to maximize efforts to protect bluebirds and their habitat. Interested individuals must have a volunteer waiver on file.
Grant Writers
Richfield Heritage Preserve is currently seeking volunteers to assist with grant research and grant writing.
Scout Projects
Are you looking for a prospective Eagle Scout or Gold Award project, or an opportunity to put all of your Scout training into practice and make a difference? Do you want to complete a project that will have a lasting impact at the park? Learn more >>>
Corporate / Church Volunteer Groups
Is your organization looking for a project to build team spirit and help the community? Look no further than Richfield Heritage Preserve. We’ll work with you to find a project that meets the needs, interests and skill levels of your group.
Service-learning/Community Service Hours
We have many opportunities to fit your time table and hours needed towards your high school or college service hour graduation requirements.
Park and Trail Cleanup
Come and help us keep the park free of litter that could threaten plants and wildlife.
Adopt-a-Fence Program
The Adopt-a-Fence Program is designed to give you the opportunity to help us monitor and clear a section of the fence that borders Richfield Heritage Preserve. Learn more >>>
Invasive Species Invasive, non-native plants are a serious threat to Richfield Heritage Preserve. If not kept under control, these plants can compete with and displace native plants and animals. Garlic Mustard removal is the focus from April through June. Barberry removal is the focus from July through November.
Carpentry and Construction Do you have a skill or trade you are willing to share? If so, we can use your help with a variety of projects throughout the park.
Special Events Do you like to meet new people? Are you creative with a flair for fun? Consider volunteering at one of our many events by helping with refreshments, crafts, games, parking or other needed activities.
